DCGR, Modestus Fernando completes his assignment with BCGR

Lt. Col. (Rtd) M. Modestus F. B. Fernando who served as the Deputy Commissioner General of Rehabilitation since 05.05.2008 at the Bureau of the Commissioner General of Rehabilitation (BCGR),relinquished his duties on 3rd May 2012 on completion of his current contract.

His departure from the Bureau after 4 years of dedicated service came at a time when the rehabilitation and reintegration programs conducted by BCGR are approaching its conclusion.

Having served under 4 Commissioner-Generals during his term of office, Lt. Col. (Rtd) M.Modestus F. B. Fernando provided an invaluable service and ensured continuity to the Bureau acting as sheet anchor as the program evolved rapidly in a short time.

He worked very closely with all the Commissioner-Generals and inculcated a strong sense of team spirit among the BCGR staff members which contributed immensely to the smooth and efficient functioning of the Bureau. A strong believer in clean and disciplined administration, he consistently ensured observance of Government rules and regulations and transparency in all activities undertaken by the BCGR.

He looks forward in the future to devote his time and effort in pursuit of academic studies. He also hopes to utilize his knowledge and experience in this field whenever opportunity arises. He would be happy to volunteer his services to the Ministry or the BCGR in the future if his services are needed.

All members of the BCGR staff expressed their gratitude for his services to the Bureau and wished him the very best in his future endeavors.
