New Commissioner General of Rehabilitation Assumed Duties on 05.07.2013

Major General KJ Wijetilleke RWP USP ndc psc assumed duties as the Commissioner General of Rehabilitation (CGR) on 05th July 2013 succeeding Brigadier Dharshana Hettiarrachchi. He served as the General Officer Commanding of the 68 Division, located in Putthukuduyuruppu prior to his appointment as CGR. He was instrumental in resettling the last segment of IDP's (over 10,000 families) which led to closure of widely spoken Manic Farm on 24 September 2012 and spearhead to rebuild and develop the former LTTE stronghold Putthukuduyuruppu village, in Mullaitivu district.

At a charming ceremony organized on the occassion of assuming office as the CGR, venerable members of the clergy from all religious denominations bestowed their blessings on him. They expressed the hope that he would be able to fulfill his duties with due diligence and continue to develop further, the rehabilitation process being implemented at present.

Having had his education at Ananda College, Colombo 10, Major General KJ Wijetilleke joined the Sri Lanka Army in 1981 and has a long and distinguished career record in the Army. His wide knowledge and wealth of experience would undoubtedly be of immense help in guiding the BCGR in pursuit of its goal of reintegrating all trainees as useful and fully productive members of the civil society.
