Courtesy call by Rt. Hon. the Lord Naseby on the Commissioner General Rehabilitation

The Rt. Hon. the Lord of Naseby (Mr. Michael Morris), PC, Baron of Sandy, Member of the House of Lords of the UK Parliament and Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Sri Lanka in the UK Parliament paid a courtesy call on the Commissioner General Rehabilitation at 1000 hours on 5th February 2015 in the purpose of acquiring details of the rehabilitation & reintegration of LTTE Ex Combatants in Sri Lanka.

He has been a friend of Sri Lanka for over 50 years. Prior to entering politics, he was the Managing Director of Reckitt and Coleman Ltd. in Sri Lanka (1963 to 1966) and the Director of the Colombo Commercial Company.

During his visit to BCGR a discussion was held on the rehabilitation and reintegration process and the progress made so far. The components of rehabilitation that is Educational, Spiritual, Religious and Cultural, Social, Community and Family, Psychological and Creative therapy, Sports and Extra Curricular Activity, Vocational and Livelihood Components were explained in brief. The services extended after the reintegration by assisting reintegrated rehabilitees on acquiring loans, medical services, donations for various occasions etc. was explained.

Commissioner General Rehabilitation and the Staff convey heartiest gratitude for the visit and the support provided by Rt. Hon. the Lord Naseby, PC and wish him good health and courage, to defend our motherland from external threats that will hinder the sovereignty, peace and territorial integrity.
