Rehabilitants celebrate Sinhala and Tamil New Year with their families.

BCGR has made an arrangement for mega New Year celebrations in the rehabilitation centers at North and East. Commissioner General of Rehabilitation, Brigadier Sudantha Ranasinghe says a special programme has been implemented in view of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, for former LTTE cadres in rehabilitation. He added that traditional Avurudu sports have been organized adding that they will also be served with traditional food items. He said that all males in rehabilitation centers will be gifted a sarong and a t-shirt while the women will be given 2 pairs of Shalwar Kameez. Authorities have also taken steps to grant the opportunity for rehabilitants to share a meal with their loved ones. Brigadier Ranasinghe also said in parallel the security forces bands have also organized musical shows in every Rehabilitation camp from April 17.
